• Align the Cover Plate with the light source, adjusting the Focus Adjustment until you can clearly see the scale.
• Calibration: Accurate measurements are reliant on precise calibration. Ensure that the room temperature is approximately 68 degrees; you can use distilled water for this process.
• Lift the Cover Plate. Apply 2-3 drops of distilled water onto the prism, then close the cover plate and ensure the water evenly covers the prism without any air bubbles or dry patches. Allow about 30 seconds for the reading to stabilize.
• Peering through the eyepiece, turn the calibration screw using the screwdriver until the reading indicates "0."
• Clean the prism using a soft cloth, then apply 2-3 drops of the sample liquid you wish to measure onto the prism. Next, close the cover plate and ensure the liquid spreads evenly across the prism, free from air bubbles or dry spots. Wait for around 30 seconds for the reading to stabilize. Align the prism assembly with the light source. Look through the eyepiece to obtain your reading.
• Please store the refractometer dry and clean within the box to maintain accurate readings and extend its lifespan.
